It’s funny watching the GOP candidate who claimed for years to want to get rid of the ACA and government health care talk about a massive expansion of government funded health care.

IVF? I don’t think so. Government funded health care? His entire 2016 campaign.

The change has nothing to do with IVF - though plenty of his supporters are hypocrites on this.

The change is ‘the government shouldn’t be funding health care’ to ‘the government should be funding IVF’.

The joke has been explained many times.

Trump and his supporters have argued for a decade the government has no provenance in paying for health care.

Now he’s for government paying for health care.

You can’t possibly not see the funny there, can you?

He never said the government shouldn’t be funding healthcare. He said, he would get rid of Obamacare and replace it with something better. He didn’t, not for lack of trying. It’s difficult, because there are Republicans who support one or more parts, but not others, and others who support different parts, but not the same as the first groups. It would be easier if democrats who agree with proposals would cross the aisle to vote for them, but they won’t… politics. The GOP is the same on other issues. Reagan succeeded with a democrat house because enough democrats would vote with republicans to pass bills he could sign. Clinton succeeded because the Republican house would compromise just enough to get him to sign. That doesn’t happen anymore. As soon as Bush lost the house in 2007 that all ended with Queen Nancy refusing to compromise one iota on anything and a democrat house delegation that walked in lockstep.

No, your mistake is trying to make this about you. Are you MAGA?

So no change then

Trump didn’t say say that.

Who said anything about a joke? It is a country mile between free healthcare for all and government paying for IVF. Not to mention he didn’t say there shouldn’t be government healthcare. That is why no one takes you seriously. Trying to make that comparison is stupid. Unlike you Pelosi clones the GOP does not all believe the same thing.

Mmmmmmm

A change in his stance about the government paying for health care.

Did he say the government should stay out and never pay for anything? I bet not especially when he said he was gonna come up with a plan. In other words no change.

Hooray for the expansion of goverment funded healthcare!

That is what you want isn’t it? There is a reason those strict conservatives say he is too moderate. Unlike your appointed candidate.

Trump can count on your vote?

It’s funny to watch people who called the ACA communism, support a guy who wants to pay for your neighbor’s infertility treatment.

(And I don’t support the govt. spending money for IVF. I do strongly support govt. funded basic health care.)

Unlike you who is in lockstep with your appointed leader. There is many things I disagree with him about. But the bulk of his policies is way better then the vote for me before I tell you mine Kamala.

It’s funny to watch people who believe health insurance should be required to cover abortions have a fit because Trump says they should be required to cover IVF treatments.

They are not having a fit over it. They are pointing and laughing at the windsockiness of it all

Trump got stimmies through. Wanted even more money. Etc

He is a moderate so it’s fun watching the right having to nod along to things that would be called communism if Harris said it

Not everyone who supports Trump is for banning abortions nor does he push at anything beyond it is a state not a federal matter. There is nothing inconsistent with his position that insurance companies should pay for IVF.
My own belief is he did that as a rather dramatic demonstration that the representation of his position as antiabortion and anti IVF is false…something that is largely ignored. But that is just a suspicion.
