I actually laughed when I read that post from big Al.
A supporter of the worst president ever, who consistently justified and rationalized the stupid Biden border policies that let millions of people overwhelm our system crossing into our country….
Now claiming that the person cleaning up the mess needs to “govern”!
Maybe a comparison with who was it Buchanon that got us into the civil war.
There no greater evidence of how much Biden sucked than the border. America went from literally setting records for border crossings every month to a border that’s shut down. Biden and his supporters stupidly got thousands and thousand people killed, cost the taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars. Couple that the 9% inflation at its peak, the fact the everything cost more when he left office, the wars, and the obvious coverup of his mental decline that conservatives all saw but somehow libs couldn’t spot…
Maybe he wasn’t that bad because he wasn’t making any decisions. Maybe Jill and Hunter and Ron Klein were really the worst…but the last four years were a disaster.
Listening to some Biden booster say Trump needs to “govern” while he’s fixing all the ■■■■ you people broke is comedy gold.
Unless you are talking about the billions spent to build what was it, 7 or 10 EV charging stations…
“ Democrats have touted the infrastructure bill Congress passed in 2021 as a signature accomplishment of the Biden-Harris administration, but some of its ambitious projects have fallen far short of expectations nearly three years after President Joe Biden signed it into law.
A massive program to expand rural broadband access has failed so far to connect any homes to the internet. A push to electrify school bus fleets has proved costly and inefficient. And a multibillion-dollar effort to build thousands of electric vehicle charging stations across the country has so far yielded just a handful of stations.
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act contained $1.2 trillion in spending on what the White House called “a once-in-a-generation investment in our nation’s infrastructure and competitiveness.”
But critics say the progressive goals of the Biden-Harris administration held back the law from delivering sweeping updates to the nation’s infrastructure.
“I was very skeptical that it would actually deliver those kinds of results,” David Ditch, senior policy analyst at the Heritage Foundation, told the Washington Examiner. “It has dramatically underperformed even my low expectations, and there’s a lot of reasons for that.”
Biden left this country in worse shape than he found it. You claim this infrastructure law is evidence of something that doesn’t exist.
Budgeting money and spending it wisely are two different things. For example…aviation is one of the items on your list. The Trump administration under secretary Duffy has spent the last six months trying to get aviation safety brought up to date before anyone else gets killed.
Nothing you’ve written above changes or amends what I wrote….libs have been yipping about broadband for years but that infrastructure law connected no one.
Biden left this country in worse shape than he found it.
Now to bring this around to the actual thread topic…immigration was a major reason for that. He allowed millions of illegals to walk I the country and we will be paying the price for that for years.
Well, this question has to be tackled on multiple fronts, depending on the reason someone is here from another country.
Visa overstays - Deport them
Illegal crossing- Deport them
Asylum seekers- Process them and either grant asylum or deny asylum and deport them
Pretty simple! The problem is not the first 2 but the last one. Lots of people seeking asylum and the Right calling them illegal immigrants, or the 2nd group. They’re not the second group but I don’t think the Right honestly cares, calling them “illegal” means you can be nastier to them.
And it takes a LONG time to process these folks, sometimes years. How do we address this? Well, you can enact laws that either speed up the process or further define who can seek asylum and under what conditions. But no GOP led Congress has ever attempted to do so, or at least passed such measures. You could simplify and shorten the process by providing additional resources, but no one is trying that either.
In the end, vilifying immigrants is a neat way to create bogymen that the Right uses to gin up outrage and create the juice needed to win elections. Which is why the GOP will never provide reasonable attempts to reform our immigration policies, no matter what the DNC tries to do. They need the “caravans of diseased illegals” to scare folks into voting GOP, because only they will protect them.
And the Dems are too toothless to try and reform on their own, because they are insecure about the Latino vote and wish to placate them and garner their votes. But they fail to understand the Latino voters blame both parties for their inaction.
The only solution is a sensible Asylum protocol which is reasonably staffed and timely. But neither party is willing to implement such a plan due to their own self interests.
All these lying libs knew that the president already had very broad authority to deal with the border:
Other statutes grant the executive branch broad authority to restrict the entry of aliens, including 8 U.S.C. § 1182(f), which provides:
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.
Thats not true. The token GOP senator on the committee to write the bill voted against the democrat open border bill and several democrat senators voted against the bill. The only thing bipartisan was the vote against.
You showed no such thing. You showed that money has been budgeted. You posted a 2022 report card I posted a story from 2024 detailing what had and had not been done. I showed that things like charging stations and broadband were a complete failure. We know that the Trump administration is having to do some fast work to bring aviation safety up to speed. I’m sure there’s some good work coming from the infrastructure bill…
But in the overall scheme of things one only needs to look at the condition Biden left the country in to see that he left it worse off than he found it.
Particularly because of his pathetic performance in the border which is what this thread is about.
In the end your “governing” comment remains one of the funniest things I’ve read on this forum…because this administration is going in overdrive to fix all the ■■■■ you people broke.
I’ve spent way too much time here the last couple of days so I will gracefully bow out.
I m of the opinion that they as a group have lied so much that none of them possess any credibility….not their politicians, certainly not their media, not their mouthpieces on forums like this one.
Just my humble opinion.
The thread title is something about what’s the lib immigration plan. Notice how they’ve offered nothing…I guess I should then assume that should they get into power again they would throw the border wide open, again.
