So are government run stores the answer to crime?

If you commit a crime, then you are punished accordingly by the law that was broken and the laws are enforced equally to all.

Locking up a bunch of people doesn’t lower the crime rate. We currently have the largest prison population in the world… and yet our crime rate is up.

What’s the complete analysis?

That’s a pretty good article. I disagree with at least one thing in it.

Wonder what the demographics are of the high crime areas.

I would be surprised if some on the left aren’t screaming that this is a form of racial profiling.

Libs have no clue/idea what to do with rising crime that they created unless they reverse their decisions and admit they’re wrong.

I can’t stop from laughing.

And just like that, Cons stopped worrying about lengthy pre-trial detentions.

And for the umpteenth time, bail is not a tool to lock up criminals. It is a tool to ensure that the accused returns for subsequent appearances.

In fact, people on bail aren’t guilty of the crime, they are accused of the crime. It is the trial, or the plea agreement that changes them from accused citizen to a criminal.

At some point there is no solution, at least through government. If such were the case then all countries could simply just adopt such solutions and all countries would be wonderful places to live. Why are people flooding to the US border?

At first, the effect appears negligible, and then you will notice a decrease until roughly a 25% reduction is achieved, and then there are diminishing returns.

No my friend. It’s after the trial and they’re convicted that they should be jailed. Once they’re convicted, they then become “criminals”. Do you understand this difference?

Socialist grocery stores, all you can eat, diabeetus, lose foot, no more running from the law.

Only if they sold nothing but candy.

Shoplifting wouldn’t be an offense, it would be taking part in the community-supported hunger reduction initiative.

we already lead the civilized world in incarceration.

What does this mean exactly? That other countries don’t incarcerate criminals the way we do? Or that crime isn’t as prevalent in other countries? What is it? IMO career criminals need to be career inmates, the numbers don’t matter.
