So are government run stores the answer to crime?

Who says that today’s Democrat Party doesn’t believe in going full socialism?

So I guess the best society is one in which government owns and runs everything and then gives to each of us all that we need? Will government also give us everything each of want as well?

Johnson claims Chicago taxpayers will not pay for any store expenses. Apparently state and federal grants are being lined up to fund the opening. “It’s not necessarily about profitability,” Johnson’s policy chief Umi Grigsby told reporters. “It really is about what is the impact on Chicagoans.”

Well, as long as “Chicagoans” don’t have to pay for their choices…

If they don’t get a grip on the criminals, the stores will just be looted.

When the grant money runs out, they’re going to have to turn a profit to remain.

Just ignore the root of the problem and keep believing failed policies with a new twist can fix it.

One of the biggest myths of our culture is that government money somehow doesn’t cost us anything.

Liberal politicians have the answers and fixes to all the problems that face America, just ask any forum lib.

What’s the GOP solution to solving crime? And can you point to where what ever policy you advocate, has worked to lower crime?

Here is a possible solution not necessarily a GOP solution. It has been done in a few cities and worked. The Mayor of Dallas got so fed up withe the Dems fighting him on this he changed to a Republican.

The best society is one in which the people who are having children are mature, married and are in stable and comfortable economic situations. Lousy parents generally produce lousy children. So then look at the communities where crime is high and why is it so?

What an asinine question.

This is a terribly and laughably incomplete analysis, but I get that it is a “feel good” answer.

Calm down, it’s one mayor in one city. That’s not the “Democratic Party”.

It’s an analysis of the problem, not an answer persay. Perhaps you could provide your assessment of what is happening in Chicago and why, and what do you see as the solution?

You will notice, that as bad as this mayor’s solution might be, it is an actual effort, not some vague ephemeral aspiration.

I think we can all agree that “stable and comfortable economic situations” are desirable, but it is pablum, not action.

Like Chicago’s no cash bail and refusal to lock upon criminals who have engaged in criminal acts? Is that part of the “solution”?

Don’t be so sure:

So lemme make sure I’ve got this right; government decisions have screwed everything up they’ve controlled, so the solution is to now control what they haven’t yet screwed up? Uh, huh…makes perfect sense.

You stated a problem.

What’s the solution? How do you fix lousy parents?

So there is no GOP solution that lowers crime?

Well, in that respect, most GOP members support locking up criminals, which in turn prevents them from committing additional crimes, which in turn lowers the crime rate.
