It slows would-be trespassers down so that border patrol personnel, alerted by smart technology, can get to the breach site and prevent illegal entry. Maybe signs saying, “persons seen damaging this wall will be shot” should be included. After a few deaths, word would get around.

How would the Dems’ border security option be better. It would be the same, but without the delay factor.

Gun safes until you get up to the very expensive high end models are no more secure than a wall locker.

The bollards have a 1/2" thick steel exterior then 35,000 ft-lbs concrete with rebar reinforcement.

It isn’t possible to cut through all of that easily or quickly and certainly not with a cordless power tool unless you brought along a whole lot of batteries.

Those aren’t cordless tools and you’d burn up many boxes of those blades attempting to cut through the bollards running them dry.

That article is full of fake news. That is the old design fence only 20 feet high and with about 15 feet of chain link fence on the Mexico side.

My perspective is that these efforts just emphasize the necessity of the barrier and the need to improve electronic monitoring to get to the actors vandalizing it ASAP.
