Do any of these “shocked” people really believe that the heads of companies all over the country are going “Oh noes, we have been ordered by the President to stop buying from China and so we must”?

Yep. Because you knew when you said that, that Trump does indeed have no authority to make an order like that and it was not serious. Of course someone was going to say that.
Its like the prior 8 years never happened with weekly “Obama and Michele are being Socialism into the us!”

No. He says stupid things. However, I do try to stick with reality and know the difference between someone with a big mouth and someone trying to be a dictator.

If/when he tries to implement any policies to this end, I’ll be fully on board with you all.
Until then I’ll chalk this up to his tendency to post whatever whimsical thoughts enter his spray tanned head without consulting anyone or even thinking about it himself. This tendency is a problem. I think he needs about 3 layers of middle men he should filter through before any of his thoughts get posted to the public because he does tend to run off at the mouth with whatever fancy enters his hair at the moment.
I voted yes, because I believe he would do it if he could.
