When one considers the importance of the contributions anyone makes in their life, Mr. Poitier’s was significant. He pioneered the way for African Americans to be accepted as equals in a society that had a significant racial component in it. He did this by being one of, if not the wisest and classiest person in the room. His style and grace on the screen did much in the minds of many to put racism in their rearview mirror of life.
