But we did ourselves - and the world - a service.

Let me ask the question this way - why do you want Italy or Germany to have a larger military, but not Iran?

You can’t let logic or facts get in the way of “trading partners don’t fight” because it instantly falls apart after a five minute look at history.

That’s a bridge we will have to cross later.

Right now, the SCO alliance system is our adversary.

We had that going with the TPP.

So that the burden of defending the West and her Allies in Asia isn’t solely on us. We all have skin in this game. The SCO is going to challenge us both militarily and economically.

Iran is firmly in camp SCO. They are an adversary.

What is SCO?

Why set ourselves up for a future war? Why not just do the work ourselves in exchange for countries with whom we will never need to fight.

Interfering in our elections for one.

Why should it be business as usual when obviously Russia is interfering.

I didn’t support us abandoning the TPP. It was Trump’s largest mistake in my opinion.

I’m actually much closer to your (collectively speaking) position on many of these foreign policy situations. I had many issues with how Trump performed his foreign policy.

Shanghai Cooperation Organization. It’s been a thing since the late 1990s. China and Russia are the most important members, but most of the former eastern and southeastern Soviet states are members and they have built out strong relations in the Middle East and in Africa. Thanks to the Chinese, they are now making inroads in South America.

On paper it is primarily an economic alliance. But it also has a military advisory wing that has been expanded in recent years.

The eventual goal of SCO is to challenge the United States economic and military alliance systems we built after WWII and solidified after the fall of the Soviet Union. To provide an alternative for uncommitted third world and second world nations.

Basically, the SCO nations altogether are the replacement for the USSR in a bipolar system.

Yeah, that was a huge blunder.

Exactly. This line of thinking is the reason for Obama’s much-derided “pivot to China”.

Did you type that out with straight face? Your government were arresting peaceful demonstrators against mandatory vaccine, arresting people for going to church, arresting people without mask etc. You think your government is any better?

Is Putin freezing them out of their bank accounts like your government did?

making ■■■■ up again?

Yeah, so that didn’t happen.

Who told you this? China is actually Russia greatest threat…long term. Hell they even said that couple decades ago. They have resources that China wants.

They resent American influence.

This is what I am talking about… is the Canadian government better then Russia’s?

Absolutely no question they don’t even compare.
