And he didn’t. Maybe the outcome would have been different.

When he arrived he saw what he saw and had to make a decision based off of that information.

Welp, I wish he’d never had to have been called.

Why did he even have to show up if adults could have had the parenting skills to control their teenagers?

Think this a new phenomenon?

What do you think was learned from this? Cops are bad? No one is at fault but the cop?

Well that would be tragic. That is one big “if” though.

Odds are, if she successfully stabbed the other girl, it would not have been lethal. Not from that position

I just feel kind of bad for the victim. Based on appearances, I wouldn’t be surprised if she just snapped after being called fat and ugly one too many times. And then to have a police officer show up at the worst moment possible.

No,. The police. They are trained to shoot to kill. So that is what they do.

You don’t know that.

You’re willing to bet the life of a girl who was at the mercy of the other with a lethal weapon on possibilities?

Anyone who has firearms training is trained to stop the target as fast as possible with the greatest chance of success and minimizing the chance of missing.

That is why you aim center mass at the target. If they die, they die. If they don’t, they don’t. The point is to stop the target immediately.

If you aren’t going to train them to do that, then just take their guns.

The policeman had a split second to decide and made the right choice.

Some just will not turn loose of their narrative long enough to admit it unfortunately.

Had it been a man attacking the same girl with nothing but his fists, would they same shooting be justified? Just asking, I don’t really know what to think.

 Outstanding!

Okay. Now you are completely in la la land. The 911 call was about Grandma. She didn’t call 911 to complain someone called her fat and ugly.

Even if someone did so what? She was fat. I don’t know if she’s ugly. :woman_shrugging:

That is no reason to try to kill someone unless mentally deranged.

Good. Helped save a life.

You’re wrong by the way.

Yep.

What was this family trained to do?

Wait, who called about Grandma? Whose grandma?

That’s a bit more complicated.

If he is beating her mercilessly, yes. Or choking her and not stopping when told to? Most likely Yes. He’s taking it to the lethal zone. But even then it’s complicated and really depends on the law of the locality.

A single punch and immediately ceases the assault? In a world without qualified immunity, aka what most people live in, you’d end up in prison for a very long time if you shot him.

Then do what they did. Let someone else make the decision for you.

Watch the 911 call video that has been posted in this thread.

Relax. This is meaningless internet forum. I can say whatever I want to. It’s not like I’m in court or on national news.

Yeah, so that isn’t happening

Well, to be fair, some of our folks are on the wrong side of this shooting. It’s the broad brushing for me
