In Indian culture, everything in nature is sacred. But Indians have certainly exploited non-Indian understanding of the word.

What’s wrong with that?

If you believe the blades of grass beneath my feet are suffering, and therefor you suffer, who is anyone to judge the validity of that?

Is it any less valid than the beliefs of a christian, jew or muslim who suffers at the blaspheming of their symbols or beliefs? Aren’t there individuals who will exploit that too?

Seems easier to just not…not say things like that. Or we’re going to need a whole lot of religious belief litmus tests.

If everything is sacred, then nothing is sacred.

The word “sacred” does not mean the same thing to Indians as it does to non-Indians. In Indian culture, everything in nature is sacred. But Indians have certainly exploited non-Indian understanding of the word. It comes up in every protest that they ever launch against anything that non-Indians want to do because they know that liberals (who ironically, often disrespect the sacred beliefs of Christians) will jump on the bandwagon to support them.

Aboriginal belief are amazingly basic the land is sacred, don’t take more from it then you need.

That’s my philosophy too, but it doesn’t make it all sacred.

Also its pretty basic here the tribe lived in the Black Hill region, and saw the mountains as scared.

Yes … along with every other bit of land in their domain … plus everything living on it, flying above it, and the water flowing through it. Sacred simply has an entirely different meaning to them than it does non-Indians.

Well according to the hate-America mob all the land in the United States is stolen.

It was stolen, that’s not even in dispute. What, if anything, should be done about it is the only question.

The Court already decided what should be done about it … pay for the land (over $106 million, if I remember right.) The Indians turned it down.

like I said this issue is nothing but pandering like removing random TV episodes because for “Racist”.

there are way more serious issues facing Native American in Both America and Canada, we need to sit down with each tribe themselves and work on solutions.
