Nope. I gave you my opinion. You aren’t going to change my mind.
Well in all fairness it’s been an issue in my family for over a hundred years but I’m not the hypocrite here.
The problem is that after the case in Minneapolis the country was coming together like we hadn’t seen in more than a decade.
Democrats cannot have that, especially in an election year.

That has bothered me too.
I don’t want it removed, but I would enjoy nature being allowed to slowly do it’s thing.
Not incorrect, both sought a divorce from the legitimate Governing authority and attempted to gain their independence by force.
The US as it exists today did not exist before the US Civil War, we were just a federation of independent states with a weak central gov’.
The war changed that forever.
The Indian nations were allowed to exist in the US as long as they followed the rules and didn’t rebel. They rebelled and lost changing the equation forever.
Burn down Granite? What fireworks are capable of heating Granite to over 10,000 F?
They own the land around the monument, if they want to put up their own tribal museums nobody is stopping them.
You didn’t look very hard. The Sioux Wars began in 1863.
Raids and attacks continued throughout the Civil War Era and beyond until they were finally defeated and put on reservations. Even then occasionally they went off the reservations to conduct raids.
If you’re going to continue arguing the case perhaps learning some of the history would be helpful.
they werent fighting for the confederacy…and nothing in your link says they were
maybe im not the one who needs to learn history

The National Park Service wants the monument removed?
Whether they fought directly for the Confederate cause or not is Irrelevant. Stalin was fighting for his own cause throughout WWII, not for the same causes We and the UK fought.
We didn’t even fight for the same cause as the UK which wanted to keep it’s Empire while Roosevelt was opposed to it and wanted “Self Determination” for all of the subjects of The British Empire.
The Indian wars that continued through our Civil War took advantage of same and prevented The Union from being able to bring the frontier forces to the fronts which would have shortened the war by years.
They may not have fought for The Cause of The Confederacy but they were absolutely a useful ally.

Must…find…Lycian’s…and…return.
Lycia was a region in Anatolia, Anatolia is now Turkey so it’s pretty much just been rebranded.

Anatolia was invaded by the Turks long after those Lycian carvings were made. The Turks were invaders of Anatolia just like Europeans were invaders of the Americas.

Don’t know. That’s the point. The point is the same KKK member artist sculped it. If that is pertinent to Mt Rushmore (which of course includes Lincoln’s image) then it is pertinent to every other sculpture that he created.

So are you saying that is okay to steal property as long as its private interests that steal it?

They should finish it, the original plan was to carve the four presidents likenesses all the way down to the waist.
The sculptor was not a klan member but was very friendly with them. Not much difference I suppose.

So it needs to be torn down right?

This ‘destroy all trace of history because it may be racist’ nonsense is the perfect example of what compromise with radicals begets.
