Some provocative statements in India: Where do you stand on this?
Speaking at a news conference in New Delhi, Trump said about liberal-leaning justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor, “I just don’t know how they cannot recuse themselves for anything Trump or Trump related.”
His comments followed a tweet earlier, in which he wrote “I only ask for fairness, especially when it comes to decisions made by the United States Supreme Court!” In the tweet he also said both justices should recuse themselves.
What do we think? Should these two recuse themselves from anything “Trump-related”? Maybe get Ginni Thomas on the case?
They should recuse themselves from the country.

No, neither should recuse themselves.
Sotomayor should tone down the rhetoric of her opinions a couple of notches.

They should step down from the courts since they aren’t professional enough to keep their political claptrap to themselves.
Go pop a blood vessel on someone’s private dime.
Apparently you feel that same way about Gorsuch and Kavanaugh as well?
Kavanaugh Tries to Praise Trump, Ends up Saying Something Totally False
When all this was going down, Neil Gorsuch even piped up and condemned Trump’s attack on Judge Robart, telling the New York Times :
“To this day, one of the surest proofs any nation enjoys an independent judiciary must be that the government can and does lose in litigation before its ‘own’ courts like anyone else.”

Well then anyone he nominated should recuse themselves to?
This is fun!

Sorry…the precedent has been set to not recuse thanks to the late Justice Scalia.
No, I prefer Trump’s approach: the women on the court should be quiet and let the men to do all the talking.

The politicians over the years have given to much power to the courts they need to be neutered in my opinion, not that it’s going to happen. I have heard the argument more times than I would like to that so and so is going to vote for ‘x’ candidate even though they can’t stand them just because of the supreme court. It wasn’t set out to be that powerful.

Amazing that you don’t see the hypocrisy in your post…

Minority women really twist his panties.
Thinking about this, Trump’;s comment suggests he is scared that the five conservative justices may not be prepared to support him every time, so he needs to rig the jury.

The day when anyone can seriously argue that Judicial positions are less political than Congress or the Executive should be past. At least it is not believable.
If anyone still wants to argue that, look at the partisan divides when the Senate is set to confirm.

Indeed. And justices have the same right to publicly discuss their political beliefs that presidents and congresspeople have.

They’ve been infected with TDS. The should cure themselves or recuse themselves. It’s their…choice?
There’s no cure. Once your eyes are opened they are open for forever.

I voted for Trump primarily because I didn’t want any more Sonya Sotomayor’s on the Supreme Court.
I forget her exact comments but … it was something about how awful it is that the judges thought to be conservative tend to vote with the President…
And when I heard about her comments I thought…”what a damn hypocrite…you always vote the leftist viewpoint. If God Forbid Hillary had been elected Sotomayor would be her biggest advocate.”
They probably should not recuse themselves…but thanks justice Sotomayor for your blatant hypocrisy.
