Kind of an awkward comparison. Yearly mortality in the West Bank went up for both sides and has remained elevated in comparison to pre-barrier/2000 levels. Using illegal entries as a measure of success seems short sighted.

There’s the rub.
You need armed guards to watch the fence/wall/barrier. Enough of them close enough to every spot to quickly respond.
With that many guards, you don’t need a fancy fence. Barbed wire would work.

The manpower needed to patrol the southern border effectively without very tall, hard to breach barriers would run upwards of 50-75,000 BPA’s.

With the barriers electronic, monitoring, surveillance and rapid deployment strike forces you cut that to a small fraction which is much more cost effective in the long term and much more effective overall.

Israel has about a 10th or our population and maintains over 500 miles off wall made of less durable materials than are under consideration here.

The slats are about the same size and thickness as railroad iron.

With the types of materials being considered very little maintenance will be required.

I think that if he has to, he will, and he’s got the guts to do it.

But should he? Not unless it’s the last resort, and he has to get the wall done,
and the Democrat Politicians aren’t willing to compromise with him what so ever
so he can get the funding and build it. Even if he has to give some other things up.

I think to Trumps voters and most true Conservatives throughout America
if Trump doesn’t get the Wall built that a Democrat would actually have a chance
to beat him in 2020 then.

The unlawful use of explosives is a deadly threat. Unlawful possession of explosives is a felony. Arson, and Deadly Conduct are both felonies.

You may use deadly force to prevent any of the above.

Try showing up in public anywhere with explosives and an obvious intent to commit a crime with them and see what sort of response you get from LEO’s.

It would take an enormous amount of it to cut through even one of those rails.

Arson is a deadly and forcible felony which justifies deadly force no matter what the intent of the arsonist is.

? Our detention facilities are bursting, the immigration courts have a backlog of about 7 years.

If these surges and caravans of thousands keep charging the border Trump could legitimately declare an emergency since we cannot deal with them.

Let them start coming in multiple groups of hundreds or thousands per each spreading out across the border there’s no arguing it isn’t an emergency period.
