He traveled from a different state. People didn’t cross the ■■■■■■■ 101 to go to South Central during the King riots. That dude went with a gun to get into trouble and he found it. Now he’s gonna spend years in prison for his trouble.

My sympathy for the dudes chasing him depends on if they were chasing him down because he just a shot a dude for nothing or not. Something missing from this conversation I’ve noticed in the rush to deify him.

And those protesters by definition were there to cause trouble anyway.

You have a right to be just about everywhere. Unfortunately for your argument, intent is half the battle in the American court system.

I’ve known dudes who got done for manslaughter shooting someone who broke into their house to rob them because it was an illegal gun.

If they got nailed for manslaughter for no other reason than the gun was illegal (ie had the gun been legal they would have walked scot free - then that is something that needs to be changed because that’s awful.

I’m unsure what your point is here. What I mean is, people wouldn’t even cross the highway from other parts of LA to go “defend” South Central in the same city, let alone travel twenty miles to a different state to protect, uh, the Chicagoland suburbs?

Still has to prove that he reasonable exhausted all other options. He couldn’t escape, he couldnt fire a warning shot, he couldnt drop the gun…

A good lawyer may be able to convince he meet that standard on the 2 when he fell, but then 1st one is gonna be hard to prove. Esp since no other person that was standing with him was attacked or resorted to firing their weapon
