Sen. Chuck Schumer slammed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s “cynical ploy” to bring the ‘Green New Deal’ to a full vote Thursday; accusing the GOP legislator of using “cheap” tricks to sink the legislation.

Since Senator McConnell became @SenateMajLdr, there has not been one bill to meaningfully reduce carbon emissions.

2. It's caused by humans
3. Congress needs to act https://t.co/smp0YEFtPu

“On Tuesday, the Republican leader announced he would bring the ‘Green New Deal’ resolution up for a vote because he ‘want to make sure everybody has the opportunity to go on record and see how they feel about it,’” said Schumer.

“Since GOP took control of this chamber in ’15, they haven’t brought a single bill to meaningfully reduce carbon emissions…We’re supposed to tackle our country’s greatest challenge. Climate change is the number one threat to our planet,” he added.
