Closing Gitmo. I challenge you to honestly say was even in the top 5 reasons why anyone voted for him in either election. Most folks don’t know what Gitmo is much less why it should be closed.

Not true at all. He ran on it. Restore America’s image and all that crap. No revisionism allowed. It was the #2 plank (behind healthcare) on his platform, and I’m being generous.

To his credit, he almost admitted he was wrong about the GWOT in one of his last interviews.

And again, regardless of what his intentions were regarding this it’s not why people voted for him.

Even so the population was reduced from 800 to 41 right before he left office, so pretty close. Maybe he should have rage tweeted at 4 am for months on end like a 10 year old blaming everyone else and calling the GOP and even members of his own party enemies of the people.
