If hundreds of thousands of American’s are going to be put out or work and not paid (or delayed pay) because of their last minute posturing, they (Congress) shouldn’t have been allowed to leave to enjoy Christmas at home with their families.

The Don said he would veto a bill without the funding. THAT would be him shutting it down.

The Dem’s are filabustering the bill . . . REFUSING to let the senate vote on the bill. This shut down is on those not allowing the senate to vote on it.

The Senate already passed a funding bill. The House refused to bring it to the floor. Because they know it would pass also and then it would force President Trump to veto it or back down.

I appreciate the spin attempts. But as President Trump demanded, the shutdown is all his and no one else’s.

President “ Merry Christmas Shutdown” Trump. He will own this for quite a while.

He knows it would fail a senate vote, or he knows it would fail a cloture vote?

The two are different. What vote does Mconnel know it won’t pass?

Mr. McConnell does not seem to believe it would pass with a simple majority. Which is why it is not on the floor for a cloture vote even. Sure, it won’t pass cloture. But that would put the Democrats on record as filibustering it. As it stands now, there is not even a majority in the Senate that would vote in favor of the $5B in wasted tax dollars.
