Senate adjourns for the August recess (I have included a paste of the Senate floor log) Judicial nominations will be front and center when the Senate returns

The Senate has split town. Below is the floor log for your perusal.

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Brett Ludwig to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin; with a cloture vote on the nomination at 5:30 p.m.

2:46 p.m. The Senate returned. Majority Leader McConnell wrapped up for the session. Cloture was filed on the following nominations:

Brett Ludwig to be a District Judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Christy Wiegand to be a District Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Hala Jarbou to be a District Judge for the Western District of Michigan.

Passed by voice vote: Nomination of Michael Nemelka to be Deputy US Trade Representative for Investment Services, Labor, Environment, Africa, China, and the Western Hemisphere; Richard Giacolone, to be Director of Federal Mediation and Conciliation; Alina Marshall and Christian Weiler to be judges of US Tax Court.

11:00 a.m. The Senate convened.

The Senate will convene at 11:00 a.m.

Senators will be given at least 24-hours notice before any roll call votes are called.
