Sen. Jon Kyl to Resign, Arizona Gov. to Appoint Successor | National Review

This was expected, Kyle made it clear he was serving on a stop/gap capacity only.

The Governor of Arizona must appoint a replacement prior to 12:00 noon on January 3rd, 2019.

Hmmm who do you think they will appoint next

I am frankly not sure.

Martha McSally is a possibility and she does not have the toxicity of other possible choices.

Oh, ■■■■■ That name rings bells.

Former Sheriff Joe Arpaio perhaps?

An argument can be made that Governor Ducey should appoint Martha McSally as a replacement to fill that Senate seat. She did get more votes than Jeff Flake six years ago in his Senate race that he won, which occurred in a Presidential election year. And she did win in 10 out of the 15 Arizona counties. (However, most of these 10 counties are very low populated.)
