Stop, assess and decide? While being chased by two rednecks with guns? What a crock of ■■■■ ! You either flee or fight back. He had already tried to get away from them so fleeing didn’t work. The only thing left was to fight, unarmed, against two mouth-breathing neanderthals with guns. What a choice to make…

The father and son straight up killed the guy. Doesn’t matter if he was the one who burglarized or not, take his picture and give it to the police, let them apprehend him. What they did is wrong, and they’ll be punished. Hate that it took two months to get to it.

I live in the sticks. I’ve driven down the road to investigate someone who’d been on my property, and I suspected up to no good. I carried my firearm for my protection. I didn’t brandish it or make it known that I was armed, mainly because I just wanted a proper ID of the guy so that I would be able to legit point him out to police if needed. I didn’t impede his egress or even confront him menacingly. Just pulled up, asked if he needed help, and was on my way. Didn’t have to call the cops because nothing was taken or disturbed.

If I’d pulled in front of him, blocked his path and shot him after wrestling for my gun that I pulled to make a citizen’s arrest, I’d be under the jail. These two should be tried, and if found guilty, buried. I’m having a hard time seeing how they won’t be found guilty.

But he wasn’t a felon. Since when does their incorrect assessment define him. He was innocent before they saw him. He didn’t become a felon that moment because they thought he was. Their judgement was wrong, even if they thought it was right, so they acted in the wrong

White supremacists; the #1 source of terrorism on America

Not the biggest threat. Terrorism will not cause the ruination of the country. White male libs will.

He’s referring to another thread discussing why Michael Flynn copped a plea deal to keep his son from getting wrapped up in the same collusion meat grinder Flynn was stuck in. He didn’t like the discussion there, so he’s snarking over here about it.

I think they’re both getting sodomized in prison

This. This should be the reason this thread should end.

Nonetheless… This thread will extend into the thousands. It should end, but it will be tried in internet kangaroo courts (here, and in 1000 other discussions across the internet) because everyone is an ersatz expert and knows what actually happened.

Escape what?

Not hardly.

The article that discusses the police report (linked near the top of this thread) doesn’t just suggest it. It states the police report says so.

the police report is the source of that “if”. Not WR.

I think what WR is saying is that this narrative won’t hold up in court.

It’s not a leap to settle on that conclusion. On the surface it sure looks like that to me. As @Safiel pointed out, Bull Connor was a cop. I’m picturing corrupt movie cops like Gene Hackman in Unforgiven or countless racist sheriffs like the guy Tony Frank played in Riverbend.

It’s what I see from the limited info we pedestrians know. But the burden of proof has to be more than one’s impressions, and dare I say, prejudices.

And THAT is what the court system exists for. To look at the facts in the absence of bias and impressions. Let the courts decide this.

Weird. It’s almost like the McMichaels should have followed your advice. But alas, let’s deflect from the clear evidence of murder, and the discussion of it, because reasons.

Why people either blame the victim or get mad about people on the internet DISCUSSING (notice how that doesn’t involve chasing down people with guns) the murder is bizarre.

There’s a reason they were arrested by the GBI

We have every right to discuss our opinions in a non violent manner on an internet forum. Maybe you should focus your energy on dissavowing the Mcmichaels actions of skipping the courts and taking the law into their own hands.

Murder is a pretty significant action. People are going to have opinions.

The horror!

Escape?..What gives them the right to detain anybody?

The police report said nothing about “if” he was fleeing the scene of a crime. That was WR
