Sigh
Odd…didn’t realize Scotland had millions of trees.
so we’ll have oxygen free wind! Who needs oxygen when you have wind powered electric?
Libs sure are weird…silly libs.
We’re gonna save the ■■■■out of this planet!
Most of them are used to make oaken whiskey barrels
Chance for the USG to fun oxygen machines
I’m sure Nessie is agreeable
less fires. less fires is good!
only if they make them in China
which may hVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THIS DECISION
They have spent the last fifty years planting trees to restore their once vast forests. Now apparently, some of those trees stand in the way of being green.
Now, perhaps, but building ships for the King’s Navy cleared most of the forests of GB including Scotland’s.
Isn’t this like pulling the pin on a grenade, releasing the spoon, and holding it to your head to cure a headache?
No. Death from cutting down all the trees is much slower and much more widespread.
One high end British video series I watched (Monarchy with David Starkey) was quite certain that by the time the Normans invaded Britain there was not much forest left, at least not compared to the vast tracts they planted/created.
"King’s forest?
Of course it’s the King’s forest Sir Robin. The king slaughtered the farmers who lived here and a forest grew in their abandoned fields."
It took about 6000 mature oak trees to build one warship of the line. GB had hundreds of such vessels. And of course, there were thousands of commercial ships too.

Yeah . . . but I like my whiskey barrel explanation better.
Whiskey barrels can be made from smaller trees than warships.
But while I’m sure barrels are still made in GB, most scotch is aged in used bourbon and brandy barrels.

Hmm, sounds like the Scots ran out of barrels.
