My experience is that outside of climate change (again, not qualified to judge), all of the metrics cited are accurate. Yes, life is, indeed, getting better for more and more humans on earth. So it is with this perception I am puzzled by the success of Donald Trump to so effectively speak to and rally the discontent of many. Now, I don’t expect every American to allow such statistics to pay their rent or give them a raise, and griping about how America falls short of its promise is our patriotic obligation. But rampant the discontent of so many when things are better than ever in our history…puzzling.

Yes. The climate is always changing. Climate kooks have been predicting the next crisis for decades…the predictions always carry calls for less freedom, more taxes, new regulations, and then they fail to come true and get pushed back another ten years on the calendar.

Be happy that we lived in the short window in human history where we got all of the benefits of burning fossil fuels without having to pay the full costs.

Be happy we live in a time that isn’t descending into the next ice age.

Well… I withdraw my former statement that people are at least admiring that climate change is real.

Guess the paper referenced in the OP is garbage.

I just glanced at Sneaky’s document…it appears to support what I said…all the claims if the next cataclysm really are just a way of scaring people into giving up money and freedom.

It is comical though that some Hannity board lefty immediately went to asking who funded that piece.

In almost 20 years on this forum and its predecessor I don’t ever remember some lefty questioning the funding of the next “give us money or you’ll die in 15 years” piece of research.

It doesn’t say that climate change isn’t real… it just says that it is a net benefit.

That is the part that I find funny.

A group of scientists looking for habitable planets elsewhere in the galaxy determined another five degrees centigrade is optimum for life.

“Optimum for life” is not necessarily “optimum for human civilzation”.

Why not? Humans are the one of the most adaptable life form on Earth.
