The Study

cyclones, tornadoes, floods and droughts are not getting any
worse;
• wildfires are less extensive than they used to be;
• cereal yields and food supplies have increased;
• coastal margins and beaches have not been shrinking.

Regarding human wellbeing (Table 9.2):
• mortality and economic losses to extreme weather events
have declined;
• access to clean water has increased;
• death rates from climate- and weather-sensitive vector-borne
and parasitic diseases have declined.
Most importantly, as carbon dioxide emissions have increased
since the start of the Industrial Revolution, virtually every measur-
able and significant objective indicator of human wellbeing has
advanced:
• life expectancy and income levels have improved;
• poverty levels have declined;
• people are living longer and healthier lives;
• the human development index has advanced virtually every-
where.
Nor is there any sign of a recent sustained turnaround in these
indicators, although there are minor fluctuations from year to year.

Now you will want to attack the source:

He was a member of the U.S. delegation that established the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and helped develop its First Assessment Report. He subsequently served as a U.S. delegate to the IPCC, and as an IPCC reviewer.

He has been doing this a long time.

Thousands of peer reviewed study’s and report with the conclusion that climate change is real and humans have an impact. Those are false.

The one study from a group who who doesn’t have any widely peer reviewed studies… is the right answer.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

You feel for it. Congrats

Looks like a case of looking for a source, to confirm one’s beliefs.

A source that does not disclose their funding.
What was discovered is ties to the fossil fuel industry.

Arrogance, backed by ignorance.

Bad combo.

Feel for you too.

"…A major New York Times investigative report, published March 2, revealed efforts by Indur M. Goklany, a Department of Interior employee with ties to the Heartland Institute and other fossil-funded denial organizations, to modify federal reports to include misleading information about climate science.

DeSmog has obtained some of the emails cited by The Times in that investigation, published here for the first time.

“The misleading language appears in at least nine reports, including environmental studies and impact statements on major watersheds in the American West that could be used to justify allocating increasingly scarce water to farmers at the expense of wildlife conservation and fisheries,” The Times found…"

“Dr. Indur M. Goklany, has 30-plus years in federal and state governments and the private sector, during which he has written more than one hundred monographs, book chapters, and papers on topics ranging from climate change, human well-being, economic development, technological change and biotechnology to sustainable development. He has been a visiting fellow with the American Enterprise Institute…”

Ph.D in Electrical Engineering. 1973. No expertise in climate science. On the payroll of THI and the AEI.

Hack.

The New York Times. Imagine that. I surrender!

They either uncovered his misdeedsor they didn’t.

Guy is on the payroll of The Heartland Institute and used a gummint sinecure to alter scientific reports. Has no climate science concentration. Is a Trumper.

Not credible.

I understand.

We’ve recked the planet for ourselves to satisfy a bunch of double-jowled oil executives and all we have left is copium.

Well that ended this conspiracy thread

Now everyone knows there are consequences to our actions, but what this study presupposes is…maybe there aren’t?

I understand.

Everyone who does such studies is on somebody’s payroll.

The NY Times is not a credible source.

When the source is a sheople trough like the NYT, it removes the necessary credibility to discredit another source that is simply stating facts.

Well at least people are now accepting that climate change is real.

The other source wasn’t simply “stating facts”.

It was stating things that tickle your ears.

In 12 years when the planet hasn’t collapsed and become uninhabitable are people like AOC going to apologize for and be held responsible for the damage done by their lies…

Or will leftist climate change kooks do what the always do…bump the calendar back and add another decade to the prediction?

Yes. The climate is always changing. Climate kooks have been predicting the next crisis for decades…the predictions always carry calls for less freedom, more taxes, new regulations, and then they fail to come true and get pushed back another ten years on the calendar.

Be happy that we lived in the short window in human history where we got all of the benefits of burning fossil fuels without having to pay the full costs.
