Sen. Chuck Schumer didn’t hold back while commenting on the Supreme Court’s ‘travel ban’ ruling Tuesday, slamming the “backwards” and “un-American” immigration guidelines within minutes of the decision.
The Senate Minority Leader issued a stark statement this week; blasting the decision while saying the revised policy “doesn’t make us safer” and the Court’s ruling “doesn’t make it right.”
“The president’s travel ban doesn’t make us safer, and the Supreme Court’s ruling doesn’t make it right,” Schumer said in a statement. “This is a backward and un-American policy that fails to improve our national security."
The President hailed the Court’s decision Tuesday afternoon, calling the new guidelines a “tremendous victory for the American people and the Constitution.”
"This ruling is also a moment of profound vindication following months of hysterical commentary from the media and Democratic politicians who refuse to do what it takes to secure our border and our country,” he added.
