That kids break the rules doesn’t mean they don’t exist or that they shouldn’t exist.

ONEONTA, Ala. (AP) — The entire football team and marching band at a small-town Alabama high school are under quarantine following exposure to the new coronavirus.

Oneonta High School coach Phil Phillips told WBRC-TV that a fifth player has tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19. It’s the second quarantine of the summer for the team.

“I looked my wife in the eyes Monday night before I went to bed and I said, ‘You know I sure hope we didn’t kill anybody’s grandmother today by having a football practice,” said Phillips. “You’re torn because the kids want to play so bad.”

Maybe it’s possible to block off a part of the school and establish a bubble for some students to live on campus. This way, extracurricular programs are less exposed. It will be like summer camp.

Why do rules exist. It’s like the speed limit.

I am sure you drive the at or below the speed limit at all times.

They are rules that are broken on a regular basis.

Now if a cop (school admin) wants the strict enforcement of a policy. It should be uniform.

Have you ever seen a high school yearbook.

Or been a high school football game. Lots of pictures taken of minors (by adults no less)

Trumps fault, no doubt.

I am pretty sure students give informed consent when they get their picture taken for the year book. As for uniform enforcement, you should expect stricter enforcement if a complaint is made or someone is harmed by the action.

As for speed limits, my rule is never more than seven mph over the limit, seems to work for me, never gotten a speeding ticket in over forty years of driving.

Why is it Trump’s fault ?

NYC has likely achieved at least partial herd immunity and their infection rate has fallen drastically therefore it makes sense to allow some in-person schooling.

This school is mad they got bad publicity. That’s all this is. If this had been a normal school day, with no pandemic, literally no one would have cared the the kid wouldn’t have been punished.

They reversed her suspension, so moot point now.

Let’s make this good and clear for everybody.

This suspension was pure retaliation on the part of the school administration.

These rules are almost never enforced.

She embarrassed the school administration and they, in a rage, suspended her in retaliation.

This is pure retaliation, not good faith enforcement of school rules.

It’s exactly as I said-selective enforcement because it made them look bad. OF COURSE they reversed it, because the suspension made them look worse. As I said before, there’s no doubt that other kids have posted pictures from school before-that included other students-and weren’t held to the same account, and that’s why this was reversed.

And my point has just been proved. Otherwise the school district wouldn’t have folded like a house of cards so fast.

Funny thing is no one is forcing kids back to school. It’s the parents choice if they send their children back to school or keep them home.
I think it’s really sad that there are so many who really don’t care about the health and well being of children.
This is all a big partisan game for some people.
They don’t care that there are children who will not be learning. But just wait a few years and these same people will blame the GOP for these same children being unable to read or write.
I have faith in parents to chose the best option for their children.

You are speculating, there is not a single documented case in the entire country of same.

If there wasn’t a corresponding rise in infections of the kids contemporaneous with the rise all over the country then we’d have something really odd.

There is not a single documented case in Israel or in any other country I can find where schools have reopened.

There is of course no factual basis for this claim.

You cannot possibly know that to be true so why make the claim?

They certainly can on school grounds. Free speech rights are already and always have been heavily restricted on school grounds and for good reason.

You could not possibly teach school or control the student body at all without such limitations.

If it weren’t dismissed with prejudice and sanctions for a frivolous law suit it would certainly be tossed in the end.

Minors also have specific protections over such things as publishing their photos without permission.

What passes for public education today is certainly not, “essential”.

Hell, it’s barely functional at all.

We have a pesky thing known as The US Constitution that keeps getting in the way.

You would not want to live in a US in which President Trump, or any other president you don’t like has that kind of power over our lives.

BTW, many of those countries are seeing a second wave beginning.

That isn’t speculation. A cluster of 130 cases in a single school at a time where there were very few cases in the entire country. How likely is it that not a single one was transmitted by a student ?

Of curse it’s nothing but speculation and assumption on your part.

How many cases were there among the families of those students and faculty who were also positive?

When did the first of them become positive?

Israel is a very small but very advanced first world country with very limited travel so contact tracing will be a breeze.

Why have there as yet still been on confirmed cases being transmitted at school?
