Who is paying attention to tweets by Russians or to statements made by RT?

The tweets by Russians weren’t by Russians but you knew that but by Russians pretending to be mot Russian

As to RT. There are posters on this very board who expressed their respect for rt as a source of news…

The answer then for RT is that people who want to exercise their first amendment right to listen to them may listen if they want. Same for Chinese news agencies… They are all on notice as to the sources.
As to tweets, I have yet to understand why people get their polititical info from anonymous tweets, but that’s up to them.
After the Russia hoax, I am more concerned about the influence on our politics of our own agencies like the FBI. That is not their purpose.

Initially, it was not Granddaughters…it was wives and daughters.

Their stated intention was to “tell of the glorious fight against the greatest odds a nation ever faced, that their hallowed memory should never die.”

In 1896, the organization established the Children of the Confederacy to impart similar values to younger generations through a [mythical depiction]
(Lost Cause of the Confederacy - Wikipedia) of the Civil War and Confederacy.

the Lost Cause , is an American pseudo-historical,[1][2] negationist ideology that advocates the belief that the cause of the Confederate States during the American Civil War was a just and heroic one.[3] This ideology has furthered the belief that slavery was just and moral, because the enslaved were happy, even grateful, and it also brought economic prosperity.

On notice. People still quote zero hedge and when called out on it “attacking the source eh”

People reading Chinese newspapers for news about United States in the United States is a silly proposition. Nobody would have heard of the quote but for a report about it

Yeah i am glad after a century of fbi being naughty you guys are finally concerned. It wasn’t when they were acting with impunity in the past.

Should have kept that healthy concern after waco probably.

Three guesses and two don’t count, as to who wrote this:

During the Reconstruction period, sturdy white men of the South, against all odds, maintained white supremacy and secured Caucasian civilization, when its very foundations were threatened within and without

Bonus points if you know of whom that passage was written.

Why some people continue to pretend there are certain things that aren’t easily discoverable with research is beyond me.

Oh and btw, the previous post of mine was one of the tamer things I could have chosen.

Meanwhile in the real world the US has gotten the UK and the EU to go along with sanctions on Chinese officials over treatment of the Uighurs.

If they are able to start to pick off Pacific Rim countries to join in… then we will see real pressure on China that the last guy was never able to deliver.

The Daughters of the Confederacy started their rebranding efforts within living memory of the Civil War… they actually lived through it.

It wasn’t about their grand parents it was about them.

China is acting like they own Biden.

Hence the rhetoric swirly.

Raising tensions is the Biden way…inadvertent as it may be.

Worsening tensions between the European Union and China could jeopardize an investment deal that the two sides recently negotiated.

The EU on Monday imposed sanctions on four Chinese officials and one entity for human rights abuses in China’s northwestern Xinjiang region. The move was part of a coordinated action against Beijing by the U.S. and its allies including the U.K. and Canada.

China swiftly retaliated against the EU, announcing its own blacklist of 10 individuals — including European lawmakers — and four entities.

You can see China fear from Alaska…

They are not acting like anything of the sort.

But you keep on being you.

Swirly. Say it loud…say it proud.

FWIW Why does Blinkin talk like a robocall? It is uncomfortable and distracting. I prefer an engaging personality…warmth…like Trump.

Fine. If we are talking about the United Daughters of the Confederacy as they existed right after the Civil War it is not hard to imagine they would have held some of those ideas.

I didn’t realize that is what Guilds was talking about in this post:

The Daughters of the Confederacy in 1880 or so hardly seems relevant to proving the abundance of racism today.

Do you think that worsening trade relations between China and the EU is bad for the US?

It won’t impact the US at all.

Biden is just stirring the pot and weakening his own leverage when the EU and China kiss and make up.

Of course it would. We import things to the eu that China is trying to supplant

stir the pot… damned if he does dammed if he doesn’t

It is relevant. They were instrumental in perpetuating a myth about the Civil War that was just not true.

That myth has been at the center of failing to recognize the brutal history that led up to the Civil War and the failure of Reconstruction.

It is a myth that I was taught and as I have been reading more and more about the history of the nation in the period between the Revolutionary War and the Civil War I am frankly pissed about how much I was lied to and have come to believe that that period in history is a grey blurry period in history classes for a reason.

Maybe we could do like the last guy and complain about our long term allies and place sanctions on them for no reason instead of partnering up with them to pen in China.

Lol. Warmth.

Playing Defense is clearly easier even when it’s clear that there is no real sense to the positions. I am gonna go out on a limb and say “old man bad”?
