Its all relative. Your country is far left of center compared to the US. The sad thing is, that your country is so far left that you think you are a moderate.

Anyway, the Sanders Cuba comments and controversy is mostly just fodder for the attention deficit disorder soundbite outrage crowd.

My country has had 25+ years of annual economic growth. We will be challenged to maintain that growth during the coronavirus crisis. We are not a left of centre country; the USA is very much a right of centre country. During the GFC we did not have a recession because we had a centre-left Labor Party federal government.

I have said I am left of centre. Like where I am domiciled I have not hidden that I am left of centre.

I work two jobs, over 60 hours per week. I don’t expect anything from anyone.

In fairness, though, I was raised by my grandparents who were both born in the 40s. So I have some old school values and work ethic.

Yes. That is the case for most economically advanced countries. I wanted to give the numbers for Latin America since there are still many in those countries at the lower end of the income scale. The numbers for Haiti for example are simply tragic.

Thanks for that link. I hadn’t seen that before. The article does note though in his written campaign announcements he’s more in favor of national background checks and limiting some types of guns.

I noted that there hasn’t been much discussion of Sanders public support of communist regimes as a cause of his drop in the polls. But this article at least mentions it:

An NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll finds that socialism is unpopular with voters overall, even as Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is gaining in the Democratic primary.

Socialism also really craters in support from both Republicans and independents which would be very important if Sanders were the nominee in the general election.
