I think you are confused.
Nobody said there weren’t going to be consequences for her actions, and there have been.
The difference is when and how the apology was given.
Samantha Bee apologized before the first sponsor dropped her. It wasn’t a reaction to getting dropped. She apologized because it was the right thing to do. Not so much with Laura. She didn’t do so until after the fallout, and then gave a half assed attempt at it even then.
