There is a conversation in which a white kid who doesn’t understand why his grandmother using the phrase “porch monkey” was a racial slur. Absolutely priceless. In the end, he claims that hes a porch monkey for life and hes taking it back.

Nobody said there weren’t going to be consequences for her actions, and there have been.

The difference is when and how the apology was given.

Samantha Bee apologized before the first sponsor dropped her. It wasn’t a reaction to getting dropped. She apologized because it was the right thing to do. Not so much with Laura. She didn’t do so until after the fallout, and then gave a half assed attempt at it even then.

Nebraska Football insisted on characterizing it as a mistake. Again, that’s something that Samantha Bee never said. Maybe it worked out as she intended- attention for a talking head who’s ratings were in the toilet.

Please don’t lie about me and what I said. I stated that her apology showed that she believed, in retrospect, what she said was a mistake to have said. I never insisted that what she said was unintentional. I was commenting on her apology. I never once attempted to excuse what she said, nor did I ever comment on my perspective of her original comments.

Laura had nothing to apologize for. She said Hogg was whining which he was. No vulgarity, nothing nasty.
