Like I said, if it costs more than a 100k a year, it’s not worth it to society, it just isn’t. We would go bankrupt trying.

Of course not. You just “want” me to live in your fantasy. You don’t want to commit yourself. The truth is you don’t know if it’s “better” or not. That grass just looks greener.
Do you? What are you willing to trade off on my behalf?
Norway already has the life you feel you want, go see if reality matches fantasy.
Is Norway the greatest country on earth? Finland? Did their system give you “the greatest country on earth?”

Are you on Medicare and Medicaid?

And I would have to see a direct comparison, plenty of retail jobs offer benefits and vacation here.

Why do you demand I live on your fantasy land where people go bankrupt for the sin of getting cancer and people living on this blessed earth in this blessed country don’t have time to take their kids on a camping trip because they are working so much for so little pay?

I don’t. According to you, that’s not fantasy at all - it’s reality. I’m not doubting you.
If you feel Norway suits you more, pack it up and go see.

You are demanding I live on your version of America. I prefer to argue for mine.

Going bankrupt is a hell of a deal if you ask me, since the alternative should be, if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. Hmm, would I rather die of cancer or get a boo boo on my credit score?

Oh no I’m not. I just refuse to pay for your Norway.
You wouldn’t last a week in my America.
Whining for your version of Norway - go! Commit. Go find out what it’s like.

Yes i am good with that.
America is a land of opportunity not a land of equal outcomes/equity.
As I said earlier work hard, get better educated, make good choices, etc.
Then you will have all those things you mentioned. Not in a retail store maybe but you will have them.
Norway strikes me as an extremely high taxed welfare style country.
Less opportunity and more government mandated equity is the impression i get.

Nah. I have a really, really good life here. Doesn’t mean things couldn’t be better, particularly for those with less than me.
That’s what I choose to work for.

You aren’t “working for” anything. You’re just critting.

uh huh.
I worked pretty hard to get Joe Biden elected, and he’s working pretty hard to move toward the things I’m talking about, so there’s that.
You think President Joe Biden is “working hard”?
Really?
I’d think he’d be in bed by 6:30pm.
He’s a disaster. Worst prez of my 68 year life time.
Everything he does turns to ■■■■■

Medicare does not cover all the costs. There are still deductibles and copays. So people would still have the same problem of being unwilling to pay their bills because they have much better things to spend their money on like the latest phone.
