Look, corruption in the government today is broad and it is deep. Since Congress determines if and when we go to war, that means the Democrat-majority Congress can always draft people at their leisure. Pelosi and her minions can decide who to send to war. My two cents, not that anyone cares. But I do accept that at times the needs of the country do require us to do our part in war. I accepted that in the pretty safe 90s, but knew it was a possibility And I can’t think of a reason why women shouldn’t also.

I can’t serve. Not only would I not be effective due to my hips, but I don’t have any trades. I would probably slow everyone down at this point in life.

I am in full-support of supporting the war on the home front. But not on the front lines.

Yep. The picture that was painted for the public was lines of patriots volunteering to serve, but the fact is over 60% were drafted.

That’s a bit naive and very unrealistic. Constitutionally, Congress has the responsibility and the power to declare war. They also have the sworn duty to perform all of the other Legislative functions and, therefore, would be leaving the Government unable to function, during a war, no less, if they went off to fight. Besides, most of them are too old or physically incapable of serving, never mind that an army of 535 would be pretty much the same as none at all.

As has been pointed out, over 60% of American soldiers who served in WWII were drafted. Do you think we would have prevailed in that conflict without them?

Inadvertently, you have made the point that there are plenty of roles that the “weaker sex” can perform in the military, which supports the position that young women can and should share the obligation of registration with selective service with young men.
