I have deliberately chosen a market peak as a starting point, (1 below) 1) Beginning from an artificially-chosen starting point, a market peak. Gold and the stock market are “equal.” 2) Because the stock market is over-priced, investors sense it, they begin to sell stock and buy gold (a safe have, both from market crash and from inflation.) Self-fulfilling prophecy or not, the market falls and gold rises. 3,) Normalcy returns. Stockmarket moves up, gold moves sideways or down 4, 5 and 6) Eventually the market is peaking again, shows\ing signs of being over-priced and gold and the market move m/l in tandem. (there can be false alarms & timing is difficult, but this is a sign to sell stock and buy gold.)
I doubt that there is any new demand for silver solder. Circuit boards are not a new development.
Gold has scores of practical uses … including use in circuit boards. It’s a better conductor than silver and it is not as brittle and it does not oxidize.
Yeah, they do some pretty cool stuff no one else can do.

I’ve been building my own custom computers for decades now. The ports are all USB 3.2 (Gen 2) and this latest machine is once again severely overpowered for the next 5-8 years.
But the old fashioned challenge never quite goes away.
Long term it is all just money (and math.)
