Well…he effectively swallowed up Crimea, parts of Georgia and Chechnya, strengthened his control over the “Stans” and Belarus… and could have easily chewed up the Donbas. But instead this mega dumb ass move?

If Putin was smart he would have done what he did in Crimea, and Georgia, drive his tanks up to the per-existing borderline were he has support and stop.
but sadly there exist no one around Putin anymore willing to tell him “Sir this is a bad idea”, so now he is throwing 18 year old kids into kill boxes with guns from the 1950’s and MRI that expired in 2005.
because Putin has never met a conflict he couldn’t solve by simply throwing bodies at it.
Its been a month and Russia still doesn’t have complete air control, or protected supply lines.

I mean you knew it was dumb. I knew it was dumb. Freaking everybody knew invading Ukraine was just super duper dumb. And Putin had been playing things relatively smart for quite a while. I just feel like something is seriously wrong in his noggin now. I get this whole delusionally messianic thing from him at this point.
Putin has always been delusional the government kept it hidden.
This is the guy who shaped Putin world view.

the issue with people like Putin is they can only tolerate people disagreeing with them so much.
Putin has done a very good job removing anyone from power that would question him and COVID has done wonders for his already insane mind.
the only person that tops him is Erdoğan who citizen literally are scared to say his name in public.
Did he target civilians or hit civilians. Did he know he was firing on civilians or did he think he was hitting a military target???

I agree that he is surrounded by yes men. And they likely fed him bad intel that Ukraine could be taken rather quickly in a blizkrieg. But I think that he knew this was insanely risky and decided to do it anyways. And now that he is mired in a quagmire he won’t take exit ramps. He rolled the dice in a way that seems inexplicable even if he is surrounded by yes men. Its got to be a brain tumor, heavy meds or Parkinsons.
We know for a fact that brandon hit the target he was aiming for.
