You are not with me. You are mistaken. He knows exactly what he is saying. He is stating an opinion that he wants everyone to hear.

Right. What he wants everyone to hear is almost certainly a lie. But smart people like you and I won’t fall for his misinformation, will we?

If you people only knew …

Cover stories and misinformation are planned, justified, and carefully backstopped with supporting evidence.

But whether or not Pompeo is intentionally putting out misinformation, I don’t know. What I do know is that he has only expressed an opinion and speculation. He has always carefully qualified his words.

Oh, really?! I had no idea. :grinning:

Yes, and by now we know enough about Mike Pompeo to dismiss his opinion as complete nonsense or an outright lie. Either way, no need to fret about Russia. Why do libs want war with Russia anyway?

Because Russia protects its children from predators that support lib policies.

That must be why Mike Pompeo is trying to convince you Russia attacked us. It all makes sense if you don’t think about it too hard.

Is this a steam of consciousness thread?

Here … use this word as a starting point:

“Disingenuous”

That’s not fair. I thought we were having a real bipartisan moment with our mutual distrust of Mike Pompeo. You seem to be confused about whether to attack him or defend him.

So who do we believe on this The POTUS or Pompeo. I am sure the cool aid drinking cult 45 members will side with the POTUS But I could be wrong

Trump has to downplay it and contradict Pompeo.

Servile is the only word that does his behavior justice.

We will find out January 20, won’t we?
Not that far.

Why wait?

Because placing large sanctions when it isn’t proven to be Russia seems a bit extreme.

Maybe Pompeo boss should fire him for lying or making wrong statement. Didn’t that happen to the security guy? It’s been a week and we still know nothing about the hack. This is pathetic for the country.

What a ridiculous question? Why would I not believe either one?

I suspect they both corrected stated their opinions. Neither stated that the investigation was complete and the final definitive answer was " X did it"

I speak English. And I know what English means when statements are qualified with phrases like “shows the hallmark of…” , “pretty clear…”, “I think…”, “I believe…”. It means they are telling you they don’t know. But out of courtesy, they are telling you that they have an opinion.

What is wrong with people here?

Think of how a court convicts people. Does the judge declare guilt with such words as “I think you killed him” or "it’s pretty clear you killed him "?

Get over it. They either don’t know or are intentionally creating misinformation aimed at the enemies that perpetrated the hack.

He’s just gotta keep defending his man crush Putin…

Please point out where he made a false statement.

“This was a very significant effort, and I think it’s the case that now we can say pretty clearly that it was the Russians that engaged in this activity,” Mr. Pompeo said in a Friday

It was Russia…not China. That was a false statement.
What would be Pompeo’s motivation to lie about it?

A clue that Pompeo is stating an opinion. One does not use that language in convicting a criminal.

Get a grip.

Wake me up when they both make unqualified statements that contradict each other.
