Comparing a black woman to an ape is not racist?

Why would it be? For 8 years President Bush was compared to an ape, was called the chimp in chief. Was that racist? If not, then if blacks and whites are being treated equally, why is it not racist to compare a white person to an ape but it is racist to compare a black person to an ape. If someone is offended by this, are they saying that black people should be treated differently than white people? Isn’t that in itself racist?

I wouldn’t argue her tweet wasn’t racist and pretty offensive, any more than I would argue either the Green Party to which she belonged or Trump have anything whatsoever to do with it. Both arguments are pretty lame, IMO.
That doesn’t mean she is a racist. You have to look to more than one ignorant statement to determine that. If she is, she sure had the Green Party black caucus fooled, who supported her try to lead the Green Party.
