Prepare to be disappointed.

McConnell and Schumer trade biting dueling floor speeches.

Being reported McConnell has flatly refused to negotiate with other Congressional leaders even after returning from the recess.

So unless McConnell is gonna pull out his secret blackmail files and start breaking heads to force another floor vote today, he seems to have made the single biggest political miscalculation of his life.

Ready to repeal the 17th yet?

We are looking at a really bad economic Reality at the time of election.

It is easy to lay this at the feet of the GOP.

If it was a Democrat President I would get it… but this failure when a Republican President is in serious jeopardy makes no sense.

Said it before, this may be the first time ever the opposition party is fighting with the party in power to get the party in power to increase their chances of winning the election.

I could also swear I just felt a wind-vane rapidly spin a hundred eighty degrees despite the direction of the breeze not changing.

This is an absolute whiff. McConnell gambled that the economy would not look as dire as it does now. That jobless rates would continue to fall. That GDP would not be as abysmal as it is. That COVID cases would not cause more shutdowns. It is why McConnell has personally been pushing so hard for mask compliance and social distancing. For months now. His gamble back-fired. And the people who are going to suffer are going to be average Americans.

What’s the wind vane?

Well there’s always a chance they could stay in session over the weekend to work this out before the actual deadline. . .no, I’m kidding, they’re probably not gonna do that. Be too sensible.

The requirement to search for jobs for Texas UE is currently waived. Why do you think Abbott would do that?

Never happen. We are 95 days from the election. McConnell needs to try to keep power after the election. He needs his struggling Senators at home campaigning.

And then you have all of those who will have lost health insurance and can’t make cobra payment…in the middle of a pandemic. That is going to help the economy go gangbusters!

It’s almost like they are intentionally pushing the country left because all of their ideas and actions are failing hard right now.

After the Ayn Rand Institute starts taking millions in bailouts the jig is pretty much up

Not too different than the actual Ayn Rand, except in degree.

I do have to say, with the millennials and Gen Z swinging leftward due to coming of age during the Great Recession anyway, Republicans couldn’t be making a stronger argument that they need to go even further left.

The term ■■■■■ Libs” exist on the Chapo’s trap house side of the Left.

That should tell you how center left the party actually is.

Really lame deflection.

The 600.00 is a disincentive to even look.

It’s not a deflection at all. Why would Abbott waive the requirement?

What is the current unemployment rate in Texas.

They don’t need to “look”, there’s nothing to “look” for. They have jobs, they’re locked out.

And by the way, we’re “not fine”. We have 10,000 new cases a day and triple digit deaths a day.

By no stretch of the imagine is Texas “fine”.

Things are shutting back down, not opening up. And it’s our fault.
