You have no idea of the details and you certainly have no evidence that Barr was responding to Trumps tweet
so your defense so I can get a picture.
is Barr is a moron who doesnât get briefed on his own department activities.

Again, huge assumptions. He canât get involved in every case. He may have well thought everything was fine and then saw what he considered to be an excessive recommendation.
QuesitonâŚre all this hysteriaâŚwho sets the sentence anywayâŚBarr or the Judge?
I think the more troubling thing is Barr the acting AG of the Federal government.
didnât know the sentencing recommendation of his own Attorneys till it was made public.
And again there was no reason for him to get involved at all period. He hadnât in any other case in this same matter.
You seem to think this all happened in a bubble. Itâs fine to have that opinion but given what weâve seen of how trump operates up to this point, to think along those lines would be fool hardy at best.
As the saying goes ⌠you can lead a horse to water.
Said earlier there could be concrete proof Trump directed him to do what he did and it wont matter one bit to his defenders. They will take the so what approach same way they did with the Ukraine situation.

Barr cannot run every aspect of every single case. He can correct what he sees as mistakes.
Itâs pretty sad to watch Republicans high and low try to pretend that what is happening isnât. That the President didnât tell his AG to step into a case to help his friend. That even if he did, itâs totes normal and acceptable. That the withdrawal of four career prosecutors because Trump and Barr did this is no cause for concern at all.

Ok. The be troubled. Neither you nor I know the details of what went on. These are all assumptions.
His literal job is to oversee the justice department and their cases.
and there is no proof Buzz walked on the moon.
neither of us where there.
Barr cant do â â â â â The judge sets the sentence not the AG, not the President. Barr getting involved really was a disservice to himself.
The options left now arent favorable to Stone either way. He can appeal, and likely lose, and get pardon which of course requires an admission of guilt. Or he can just accept the sentence and get a pardon once again admitting guilt.
Nothing Trump or Barr does at this point will help Stone when it comes to his guilt. Sure he may get out of jail but the stain and stench surrounding him will live on for the rest of his life.
Guess he can spend the rest of his days playing the victim card.

Its troubling to see this hysteria where a scenario is created in the heads of Dems and then they are outraged at Barr over nothing.
No, there is zero evidence that Barr was directed by Trump or would have allowed himself to be so directed in this case. None.
Its like the conclusion that there must have been collusion with PutinâŚand wasted two years ad millions of dollars looking for it. All based on âcredible accusationsâ an no facts.

There was a picture. You got an audio of Trump talking to Barr about Stone and Barr saying âYes sir, get right on itâ? No. Its a made up thing.
This defense is good and all.
but by next week Trump will openly admit he did it and you will have to move to âIt not illegalâ

picture can be faked, didnât Trump tell us that when someone took one of him wearing clown makeup
If there was a video or audio of Trump literally ordering him to do so, a whole lot of people would simply deny it point blank. One cant talk about evidence while knowing full well it wouldnt be cared about either way.

SoâŚDems can just make it up in their heads.
Fine. Let Pelosi start the impeachment of Barr. Iâm sure the Senate would know how to handle that responsibly.

MidwestIndy:
I dont recall anyone suggesting that Barr should have recused himself and that isnt the issue in the first place.
What is the issue is he had no involvement in this case until Trump opened his mouth, or twitter app more aptly. The appearance of impropriety alone is bad.
So letâs take it a step further. Letâs say hypothetically that a few months from now we find out through a leak from the deep state that Trump had in fact spoke with Barr and directed him to.intervene in this case. Are you okay with that?
Iâll wait for your answer, because I already know what several others on this site will say. Letâs see if your answer is different.
From CNN: (geeze you people jump to conclusions)
"In the interview Thursday, Barr explained the discrepancy at the heart of the public spat this week over the Stone sentencing and blamed a late night tweet from the President for creating the environment that evoked outrage from the left.
Barr pinned the mix-up on a miscommunication between him and the interim head of the DC US attorneyâs office, Tim Shea, who had been a close aide of Barrâs until earlier this month.
Barr said that Shea spoke briefly with him in person on Monday and had explained that the prosecutors handling the case had wanted to pursue the elevated sentence of seven to nine years, âbut he thought that there was a way of satisfying everybody and providing more flexibility.â
The filing that eventually made it before a judge and the public on Monday night was not what Barr was expecting. He was âvery surprised,â and told his staff to prepare to amend the filing in the morning. But then Trump tweeted, slamming the prosecutors in a middle of the night post."

He was very surprised even after being told what the DC office was requesting.
