I’ve thought for a long time that most of his performances were nearly identical in his speech patterns, his mannerisms and even the emotions he was trying to convey.

That said, I thought he was terrific in The Sting and The Natural, and I wouldn’t have wanted to see anyone else play those roles.

His narration in A River Runs Through It was also fantastic and on point.

His Direction in A River Runs Through It and Quiz Show also stand out to me.

He’ll be missed.

Depressing. Man was a fantastic actor and one of the last survivors of Hollywood’s silver age (1960-1980).

Amazing Actor! Sneakers was an amazing movie he was in.

He was that eras Keanu Reeves. He played himself rather than playing the role. So writers who had him in mind had to write their characters around who he was. Same way modern writers write Keanu Reeves roles.

Redford had an enormous amount of charisma. When you watched him act it was like he was a guy you had known your entire life. Not too many actors have that kind of charisma.

Aww RIP always loved him.

One of a kind :purple_heart:

He did this movie with a broken thumb which is why he was holding one of his hands oddly during most of it.

Just like Robert Shaw suffered a knee injury playing handball and simply worked the limp into his portrayal of Lonnegan.

Three Days Of The Condor was a good movie for him. And The Sundance Institute will continue to be strong IMHO. R.I.P.

It was not a great film,
but it needed to be made.
So he made it.
