Robert Francis O'Rourke 1 point behind Rafael Bienvenido Cruz in Texas

So far-leftists.

He mentioned earlier in the talk going to Roscoe. He didn’t just randomly think of a cotton gin. It was an actual experience related to his previous story.

You people are unhinged.

Far leftists? Not really. Just rational progressives.

He’s blowing racist dog whistles and you all came running to defend him.

What kind of a disgusting pig looks at a black guy and starts talking about cotton picking??

Sorry beato, but we’re not turning back the clock for you!

I contributed to O’Rouke’s campaign last night.

Right…

I referred to Cruz as smarmy too and got called out for it. I don’t care, he’s smarmy.

Admit it. He monkeyed it up.

The 97% of blacks that poll for Beto can’t roll their eyes enough at this post.

Why are you perpetuating a lie? He never said what you are commenting on. Try and gain a shred of credibility.

I don’t hold it against him, I hold it against libs.

She didn’t allege rape.

We all know that the racist o’rourke took one look at the black guy and his first thought was “Republicans elected Lincoln to take away all of the DEMOCRAT SLAVES, so now we have to let in illegals to do the slave labor you all won’t do anymore. Thanks Lincoln!!”

Disgusting!!

Come on man.

What did I say he said? Nothing. Generally he said that we needed illegal immigrants to work in cotton gins, and he was reported to have said that to a black person.
Why are you perpetuating the lie that I said anything else?

no. you’ve purposefully misquoted him and we’ve all called out your dishonesty.

In response to Ohknow’s purposefuly dishonest fake quote:

Then when someone pointed out it was a fake quote:

Seems you’re comfortable wallowing in lies an then reinforcing them.

He didn’t even say that. Maybe now would be a good time for both you and ohknow35 to simply post the actual quote.

You provably have.

Look at this guy. Just look at him.

Very well. Here it is:

“My question is, do you support granting citizenship and American-paid benefits to illegal aliens who violated our country to come here, who fly their foreign flags here, who have citizenship in their countries and whose families did absolutely not build this country, while black people are subject to things that you explained before? You can answer yes or no, please,” a black student asked O’Rourke.

“I mentioned going to the high school in Roscoe, I also went to the cotton gin in Roscoe,” he said. “And at that cotton gin, there are 24 jobs and the manager of that gin says it does not matter the wages that I pay or the number of hours that we set … no one born in Roscoe … or Texas or this country who is willing to work. But there are immigrants who are coming from Central America or Mexico or other parts of the world to Roscoe to work these jobs and to help build our economy.”

So this outraged youwhen I represented that statement as follows: “Generally he said that we needed illegal immigrants to work in cotton gins, and he was reported to have said that to a black person.”

I think it was an accurate paraphrasing and if Trump had said what O’Raurke said he would be crucified.

Now lets look at another paraphrasing:

DeSantis actually said“We’ve got to work hard to make sure we continue Florida going in a good direction. Let’s build off the success we’ve had on Gov. ( Rick ) Scott . The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases and bankrupting the state.”

This is how that statement was paraphrased by the Seattle times, with similar paraphrasing in liberal media across the country: “Florida GOP candidate warns not to ‘monkey this up’ by electing African American as governor”
https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/florida-gop-candidate-warns-not-to-monkey-this-up-by-electing-african-american-as-governor/

Now, was what ohknow35 said a worse paraphrasing than the mainstream Democrat media did all across the country?
Can you direct us at the outrage you showed against Big Media as you did against two posters in a forum that a handful of people ever read?

Amazing you had to deflect to the Florida thing after posting the full quote and being wrong…

Well not amazing…typical

I was just a little too young to see those bands that early on. I did get to see the Huskers, Fugazi (a lot), the Replacements, and anything else that either crunched or jangled. Like @Forcefield, I am in a band (mom & dadcore?) that gets to play out just a little bit when these oldsters (the Dictators, Agent Orange, the Dead Boys) wheeze and rattle through town.

My tastes are broader now, so the O’Rourke-Nelson thing is awesome: Me loves me some Texas songwriters (Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, James McMurtry, etc.)
