Riddle me this democratic voters?

If a Trump win would be the end of the republic then why didn’t your leaders primary the one candidate Biden that Trump beats consistently in the polls?

They had plenty of time to, there was plenty of warnings and yet here we are.

“The CNN-SSRS poll found two-thirds of Democratic-leaning voters surveyed think the party should not nominate the incumbent president for the role again in 2024.” - five months ago

You’d have to ask the party leaders, I guess. Personally, I would celebrate if Biden were not on the ballot.

Are there polls that show other Democrats beating Trump? Like who?

Has an incumbent POTUS ever been successfully primaried ?

Who decides to run is not up to us. All we can do is vote when someone runs.

Basically the answer is that it’s nearly impossible to primary an incumbent president.

Only hope of Biden being replaced would have been Mr. Biden himself deciding to not seek another term - but of course then, his natural replacement would have been Mrs. Harris who, incredibly, somehow manages to be even less popular than the POTUS.

I think the Deep State is pushing Biden because the fix is in again same like last time.
Pelosi couldn’t keep her mouth shut and wanted to put Democrats at ease so she got in front of TVs and said:
‘No matter what happens on Tuesday Biden WILL be the President’.
And…HOW and WHY was she so sure when he did NO campaining, polled borderline low and appeared as a week candidate.
Then…all irregularities happened after O4OO AM…
One needs be no genius to see what’s going on.

Not incredible once you consider any political office Fweedom has held is as a result of checking off the correct boxes. Qualifications be damned the woman is a token and an empty pants suit. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

It can never be something sane like he’s the current and incumbent president.

Incredible in the sense that Biden’s approval is lowest for a POTUS at this stage of the term since Mr. Carter in 1979.

Ergo, difficult to beat that - but Kamala does beat that.

Yes, of course you do.

Sane and Biden in the same sentence?..yeah right.
He turned out to be worse than Carter and they don’t have anyone else?

You’re not electing Biden to a second term…you’re re-electing Obama to a fourth.

I hate all this talk from both sides that elect “insert name here” and its the end of the Republic.

They should Focus on real issues not this childish name calling.

The NYT/Siena poll also asked voters what they would do if Biden were not on the ballot. His absence led to a 12-point swing in Democrats’ favor, with a “generic Democrat” handily outpacing Trump. This result has given additional fodder to those who argue that the party would be in much better shape if Biden were replaced by a younger, less unpopular party leader.

Bahhhhhhh.

Trough.

Etc.

I agree with that. It’s clear that most Americans don’t want Trump or Biden to be the next president.

Has any candidate on either side polled that 75% of their own base wanted a primary challenger.

No no. I am not asking whether there have been POTUSes that their bases wanted to primary.

I am asking if it’s ever been done with success. In this case, there’s a wide gulf between desire and action.
