RFK asks Biden not to send missiles to Ukraine

Ukraine has been attacking Russia with American and NATO weapons

Putin sees this as an attack by the US and NATO

will Biden give Putin a reason to declare war on NATO by giving Ukraine longer range weapons?

LOL… Putin is stupid, but not that stupid.

blaze of glory

It was stupid as hell to put any restrictions on any weapons we gave Ukraine. These “red lines” were never Putin’s to begin with; they were Bidens. Put in place to ensure Ukraine could never actually win.

Russia will be ‘at war’ with NATO if Ukraine long-range missile restrictions lifted, Putin warns

Maybe but I have not grasped what it is that the US has to gain, supporting why this country would risk and sacrifice so much? When Putin took Crimea, I could see it more plainly but now…I do not.

because it is in our interest ti ensure russia does not succeed in a war of conquest in europe. I agree with haley, if Putin wins in Ukraine, he won’t stop there.

Agreed. And RFK is being a useful idiot at the moment.

Putin isn’t consumed with brain worms like the Japanese leadership was in WWII.

He knows Russia can’t win a war with NATO. It wouldn’t even survive a conventional war with NATO.

Because making life difficult for each other is how great powers (although the definition must be stretched to include Russia) do to each other and always have. The USSR made our life difficult in Vietnam and then we made their life difficult in Afghanistan in the 1980s. Same thing is happening now. We are making their life difficult. That’s the interest.

No it’s not.

The Ukraine is not a part of NATO and Putin’s aware. Also, if Russia is having this much of a problem with the Ukraine, it clearly displays the probability of him taking on NATO. IMHO…this is costing the US much more than what “we the people” are gaining.

without our aid Putin would be in kiev, so your little mythical strawman about him having a hard time against Ukraine doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.

But thanks for pointing out that NATO, and joining NATO, had nothing to do with Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine.

It’s pennies on the dollar compared to what actually fighting in a war in Europe would cost. We can win WW3 in the bargain basement and without Nukes! If we give or sell Ukraine enough to win, and get out of the way, Putin’s regime will fall.

yes it is

Didn’t their armor run out of petrol leaving miles and miles of armor exposed heading towards Ukraine? I can see that mess trying to make its way through Poland it would be obliterated. Took them 20 years and a loss to beat a few thousand jihadists in Chechnya armed with Ak’s.

I don’t put much stock in the military might of the former Soviet Union.

The Soviet military was always a bit overhyped after the 70s but it was still a respectable thing.

Their successor militaries mostly suck. Although the Ukrainian military seems to have gotten the best out of its old Soviet veterans. Mainly because I think it’s slightly less corrupt than Russia is.

The government was corrupt, that seems to be improving. The military I’m sure had its share, but overall, it seems much less corrupt than tha government in general

There’s some professionals there for who are patriotic. That’s the only reason (well that and Russia sucking ass) that has allowed them to survive.

Plus it’s almost like Russia totally forgot that the Ukrainians were commanded by guys who were in the Soviet army right alongside them. They knew what the Russian strategy was going to be just as soon as the Russians knew about it.
