That’s true. He was direct and straightforward about explaining to Lester Holt that he fired Comey because of the Russian collusion investigation, which Trump has always maintained is illegitimate. Actually I respect Trump for that even though the statement had a great deal to do with the appointment of Mueller. Had he dissembled and referred to the Rosenstein memo there very possibly would have been no appointment of Mueller. You can say he was stupid or that he chose not to take the coward’s way out.

The meeting was set up explicitly regarding “dirt” on Hillary by a hostile foreign government.

So? Its done all the time in campaigns and the Hillary campaign and the DNC actually “paid” foreigners to make up “dirt” on President Trump, as in the dossier which is what the SCAM of Mueller’s investigation is based on. And if Russia is a hostile government WHY did the Obama Administration let them get their hands on 20% of our nuclear grade uranium?

It is disheartening to see what has become of the Republican Party. There was a time I thought there was hope for it, as I tried to work to improve things in my neck of the woods. They took the wrong path in 2016, and are continuing down the wrong path currently. Instead of castigating the president, they are castigating former members of the Republican party such as myself who have had to abandon the party due to their abhorrent morality. Mark my words, it will cost them. We have already seen it in the loss of the House. With the way they are running off what use to be their base, they will soon be a minority party.
