Imagine thinking it crazy that we handle asylum seekers with even a modicum of empathy instead of tossing them into cages for weeks on end and then blatantly lying about the state of their confinement.

No, Iâm a realist. I never expect people to relinquish power. I was just telling you how Marx said it would go down. And like I said earlier it all works on paper but falls apart when it hits the real world. And remember that Fair Tax thing that was all the rage a few years ago? Same thing would happen to that if it was ever implemented in real life.

Imagine enforcing laws in a manner that wasnât specifically designed to make the lives of already poor, desperate people even more horrible. Imagine pretending that weâve never had this many people being detained before when we definitely have. Imagine anyone, for any reason, attempting to justify stripping toddlers from their parents for weeks or months on end in the name of deterrence.
Imagine a Republican party rotting in the midday sun.

We would have less Russians here creating anchor babies?

We would stop a lot of drugs coming through legal points of entry?
Trump wouldnt be able to have workers at his hotels?
We would have a work shortage on farms( we do)?
We do enforce our laws but there is such a back log because we dont have enough judges that the system is swamped?

I find myself many times, now that Donald Trump has taken over the Republican party and crushed conservatism, wondering what people like Ronald and Nancy Reagan would say about current presidential comments. Or how Bob Dole would react to North Korea. How Barry Goldwater would view our debt and church influence. How Abraham Lincoln would view profiting from the presidency. How Teddy Roosevelt would feel about the influence of the media.
Itâs really interesting stuff.
