Republican Christine Todd Whitman Calls for GOP To Seek Trump's Removal From Office

Good for her!

I have no doubt “Retired on the job” Paul Ryan will give her comments about 10/1000th of a seconds serious consideration before he giggles and says “no way”.

Shocking I say…

Trump must have asked her to actually work when she was NJ Governor.

Fake news has been smearing this stained opinion all over the walls of the internet search “engines.”

Remember you asked me for an opinion.

Single Payer - It can be if it means eliminating private insurance and only having single payer. On the other hand I don’t mind having a government option to take care those truly in need and the elderly.

Strong Unions - It can be. I don’t have a problem with unions. I have a problem with closed shops and compulsory inclusion in a union. On the other hand those that choose not to join a union should not be able to reap the benefits that the unions provide. EE’s that are not part of the union should not automatically get the same pay and benefits that the unions negotiate. They should be on their own. They should have no access to union representation in issues of workplace safety, working conditions, grievances and wrongful termination. They should be on their own.

“Effective but reasonable regulations” - Now there is a loaded term if you ask me. I think there can be and are regulations that strangle and are inefficient. I think there can be regulations that are justified and reasonable. “effective and reasonable” is a qualitative statement only viewed through ones own prism of reality.

Free trade - another that is very subjective.

School/Colleges - Having publicly funded schools and colleges isn’t an issue for me. I’m a proponent of education and see it as a means of bettering ones-self. I’m the result of public education and was the first (and only one of by brother and sisters) that went on to college and earned a degree. I think some of the social justice warriors (on both sides) blow whats going on in public education out of proportion. They always zero in on an extreme case.

Higher taxes on the wealthy is extreme left? Pretty much, while tax cuts for the wealthy are extreme right. I don’t LIKE paying taxes but understand they are needful. Sorry I don’t have a magic bullet to fix them though.

I say Christine Todd Whitman gave y’all a thrill up your leg.

Well that contributed exactly nothing to the discussion. Thanks for stopping by I guess.

Which Democratic policies would those be?

Pro Choice?
Single Payor Health Insurance?
Amnesty for undocumented immigrants?
Expansion of social safety net programs?
Raising the minimum wage?
Climate change issues?
Stricter banking regulations?
Stricter environmental regulations?
Opposition to voter ID laws?
Increasing taxes on the wealthy?

I suspect that some Republicans are relying on two things - the short term memory of the electorate, along with the standard “It’s a two party system, you can either for us, sign on with Satan, or drop out entirely” narrative.

That has certainly worked for them in the past, but I ackowledge Donald is a black swan event so we’ll see. I do think the GOP brand has suffered long term damage as a result of all this.

Good point. And really, this is just further proof of what a horrible system we have with the two-party set up. As for the GOP, the Faustian Bargain should not have been worth it to them. Not even for a second.

That debate is happening inside the party between the moderate wing and the progressive wing.

The Progreasive wing is basically saying to swing for the fences on policy because it doesn’t matter what policy a democrat backs, the scary MS-13 campaign ads will happen anyway.

So might as well go for it.

Yea don’t see how that is going to work when the Democrats are pushing Socialists for election. You think that Republican will be ok with that?

Do you think Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is going to lose in the general?

You libs are desperate.

You all said Trump won’t last 6 months, then a year. And now it’s year and half into his presidency you’re still clinging onto anything…anything.

You’re all so desperate.

I mean, they’re not really wrong. Why it’s taken actual Democrats fifteen years to realize no matter how moderate you are the GOP will attack you as the most liberal liberal ever to liberal liberally, I will never know.

Then why aren’t they already Democrats if they are for all those things?

Witless? The one who proclaimed the air around 9/11 a-okay.

I was wondering when you would weigh in on this one my friend.

No i do not think she will lose. I suppose you think she will not win?

Roy Moore would win the general election in that district if he had a (D) by his name.

88% of Republican voters approve of Trump’s performance.
