the ukraine cannot enter under nato rules until the conflict with russia is settled; hence, russia has no interest in ending it.
Not Finland. They share a border thatâs extremely close to Saint Petersburg, Russiaâs second largest city.
The Finns âweirdâ neutrality theyâve kept since 1945 has been beneficial for everyone. Especially the Finns.

Even if the Russians ended it, it wouldnât matterâŚUkraine is never entering NATO. Takes approval from all members, which they will never get.

Heâs not. The opposite in fact. We just ordered our trainers out of Ukraine.
Stepan Bandera was recognized a national hero after the Maiden protests which were at minimum 50% far right made this happen during WW2.

If it wasnât for Nazi group Azov Battalion they would have never taken back the city of Mariupol from the separatists. They do it mainly because they think Putin is a jew.

16th and 17th flight of arms to Ukraine in the last few weeks from the US landed earlier today. Another 160ish tons of armaments. Good. I was worried those flights would stop when we started pulling out people out. Keep em coming!

That was a big waste of effort.
Brandon better quit provoking Russia and abusing the Ukraine.

Is Putin blinking? Or is this a feint before an invasion?

Putin has possibly weighed the costs/benefits and has seen invasion as a bad path. If so heâs looking for any scrap of an agreement to help him save face. Pretty sure he did not expect the degree of resolve from the EU/US. However, Iâm still betting on a bite size invasion of Eastern Ukraine to âprotect the Russian speaking minority who live there.â
"Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday that Moscow is ready for security talks with the U.S. and NATO, as the Russian military announced a partial troop withdrawal from drills near Ukraine â new signs that may suggest a Russian invasion of its neighbor isnât imminent despite snowballing Western fears.
Putin said he doesnât want war, and called for âpeacefulâ discussions over Ukraineâs bid to join NATO, which Moscow sees as a major threat. The overtures from Russia offered possible new impetus for diplomatic efforts to ease the worst East-West tensions in decades, which have put Europe on edge and rattled global markets."

I thought this was a cool website showing changes in Russian military deployment in real time.

All of this is extremely expensive for a country as poor as Russia. No way they go home without getting something- diplomatically or militarily.
I donât see them leaving and your right they donât have the money to do this. Either itâs just a big bluff in order to get concessions that continue to go on and on or the military will be used. I highly doubt Putin is just going to go home now and say âSorry my bad folksâ after this.

Yeah no way- but Iâm starting to wonder if Putin has lost the plot. Even a minor invasion would incur heavy sanctions that would cripple Russiaâs already weak economy. Heâs not going to get the diplomatic big prize of the West saying Ukraine can never be a NATO member or pulling all military from old Soviet Satellite countries. So what can he get diplomatically that will let him save face? Lot of pressure on that old KGB agent.

EU and NATO came together fine in my opinion. Thereâs a decent chance Putin just backs down. Weâre still in the middle of this. But we didnât give him what he wanted. Assurance that Ukraine wonât ever join NATO. Because thatâs up to Ukraine and NATO.
