Information is coming in quick, but multiple(some questionable) sources saying we will evacuate our embassy in Ukraine today. Really unconfirmed that Russia is doing the same.
I hate Buzzfeed, but still:
LA Times is good:

If Putin â â â â â â â â â â â â â I really wish he hadnât gone this far. I honestly think it will destroy the Russian government. But tens of thousands of people will die in the process. So weâll see.
Yesterday we sent in our tenth plane load of Javelins/M141/MK19/ammunition and who knows what else this year. 1300 tons of armaments. UK sent in 1000+NLAWS, the Baltic states have been sending in their arms(Javelins/Stinger), Poland sending their SAMs. Hope it helps if it comes down to an actual invasion. â â â â â
The state-owned media in both Russia and the US are both pointing to Washington as the source of the reports about an impending invasion from Russia.
WASHINGTON â
Unnamed U.S. intelligence officials say Washington is ready to evacuate its embassy in Kyiv in anticipation of an imminent Russian invasion of Ukraine, according to an Associated Press report.
US Plans to Evacuate Embassy in Kyiv, AP Reports
What has been the reliability of âU.S. intelligence officialsâ? It certainly has not been very good in recent years, especially about anything related to wars overseas or anything of political importance. Unnamed sources are arguably even less reliable.
Here are some recent intel failures:

Itâs good to be skeptical of initial reports. The fact that you threw in Hunter Biden and unrelated stuff lets me know youâre not interested in the actual topic.
I would like this thread to be about Ukraine and our response to the crisis there.

The point is that reports from US intel agencies are frequently evidence-free propaganda to further political objectives.
The fact is that the false information has been used to a pretext for wars that have killed hundreds of thousands of people. That means we need to assume that the reports are false unless there is real evidence to back them up.
US media have been very reluctant to challenge the government narratives in recent years, but perhaps that is changing.
I am assuming General Miley has a better idea that most what will happen if war breaks out. His conclusion matches what military think tanks RAND and CSIS are saying as well what the likely outcome will be. They are not predicting a big struggle between two powers but a slaughter, letâs hope they donât go to war.
Yes, Russian has vastly superior forces. That does not mean that there is any real evidence for an invasion.
I am waiting for a scare headline saying that Russia could turn every major American city into a radioactive crater in less than an hour.
That is true, but it has been that way for last 60 years. It is hardly news.

It could fall. Depending upon how far Russia wants to go. Going for Kyiv is one of the extreme scenarios. Or they try to trudge through the mud and get hamored and stick with gains they got around Donbas and trying to get to Mariupol. And in the woods in the north. We donât know how it will go. Unfrozen Ukraine in February actually does mess up war plans.
I unfortunately think Russia does something militarily, it costs a fortune which Russia doesnât have to move that much military as well as feed and maintain them. I donât remember the foreign diplomate I think from the UK said Russia didnât amass this massive of a force on the border of Ukraine to have tea.
On Twitter various videos have been uploaded from people in Russia since January filming clips of convoys and train loads of military equipment it is a momentous amount of military vehicles, tankers, troops thatâs been moved close to the border. They could have moved a division and got the same results if just scaring people was their aim.
I really donât understand why some in the west thinks they are bluffing we already know they will invade since they are already occupying close to 10% of the Ukraine since 2014. I pray I am wrong but I think the White House has this one right saying it could come any day.

lol⌠you guys and your mud. if russia invades (i have my doubts) it will control the roads and take cities. there is no need to trudge through the mud on fronts. this is 2022 not 1940.
this is not the first time russia has played military games around ukraine. its like team spirit in sk. a somewhat regular exercize. maybe they will, maybe we are panicking about nothing, maybe we are being propagandized.
