A stunning study from Yale University is shedding new light on the immigration chaos taking place along the United States’ southern border with Mexico; claiming the illegal immigration population of the US is possibly “triple” previous estimates.

According to the Washington Times, experts from the Ivy League institution now believe there are between 16 million and 30 million undocumented individuals currently living in the United States.

“The number of people in the country illegally has always been a touchy question, and is perhaps even more freighted now under President Trump,” writes the Times. “During the 2016 campaign Mr. Trump said the numbers could be as high as 30 million — drawing protests from fact-checkers who cited the traditional demographers.”

“Policy debates about the amount of resources to devote to this issue, and the merits of alternative policies, including deportation, amnesty, and border control, depend critically on estimates of the number of undocumented immigrants in the U.S., which sets the scale of the issue,” said the researchers.

Love the picture of lots of brown people that the Washington Times chose to use. Where are the pictures of white people who overstay their visas? There’s a lot of them.

Good news everyone!
