The United States federal government is poised to begin constructing new segments of President Trump’s proposed border wall in Southern Texas this week; with locals reporting heavy equipment and materials arriving along the Rio Grande Valley.

“The U.S. government is preparing to begin construction of more border walls and fencing in South Texas’ Rio Grande Valley, likely on federally owned land set aside as wildlife refuge property,” writes the Associated Press.

“Heavy construction equipment is supposed to arrive starting Monday. A photo posted by the nonprofit National Butterfly Center shows an excavator parked next to its property,” adds the article.

The move comes as President Trump and Congressional leadership struggle to reach a bipartisan budget agreement.

The Commander-in-Chief has repeatedly told Democratic legislators he will not sign any bill that omits border wall funding.
