REPORT: McConnell Says ‘National Emergency Declaration’ Coming on Border Security

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell reportedly told journalists Thursday the President will likely sign the bipartisan budget agreement and subsequently declare a “national emergency” along the United States’ southern border.

“He’s prepared to sign the bill, he will also be issuing a national emergency declaration at the same time,” said the GOP leader during a meeting with his congressional colleagues.

“The White House did not immediately respond to a request to comment on whether Trump would do what McConnell said. A spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the California Democrat would hold a press conference Thursday afternoon,” reports CNBC.
