Well that isn’t going to happen anyway, so I don’t think anyone needs to give much credence to your hypothetical. You’ll pay just like you are told to do.
Those programs seem reasonable but I would reserve tax free status and education to the population that needs it and not all African Americans. The wealthier AA population can enjoy the boosted capital investments.

My grandfather purchased the land in 1964. Paid it off in the late 1980s. Basically they lived super frugal so that they could pay off the house and the 66 acres of land as fast as they could on his income. He worked two jobs; one at a paper mill and he built cabinets and did home renovations on his days off from the mill. I actually didn’t get to see him that much until he quit building cabinets in the late 90s; he was always at work or asleep. He was a workaholic to the 9th degree.
As for who owned it before him, no idea.
I’m not getting all of it. My sister and I are splitting it.
That’s cool! It really is. I also have land my Dad owns, coming to me someday. He has about 30 cares in south VA. He basically bought his parents land where his childhood house was.
That same land is a acres of tobacco fields. Fields that were worked by slaves about 60-70 before my Dad was born. Neither my Dad or his parents worked on that field as a slave but the land will be passed down for as long as we still own it.
That type of pass down inheritance is extremely rare due to slavery and Jim Crow. Many black Americans, who are descendants of slaves, were denied the ability to accumulate earthly building assets like land.
That is one of many opportunities denied to us due to slavery and Jim Crow.

The blood of hundreds of thousands of Union soldiers was a nice reparation to those who were real slaves rather than 5th generation decendants.
People who were never slave owners having to pay money to people who were never slaves.
Only in the entitled world of the left does that make any sense i suppose.
Nope. The Union fought to protect the Union not to free slaves. Stop acting like the Union wanted to free slaves a were willing to go to war over it.
You pay money for a lot of things you don’t use. Welcome to the art of taxation. At least I’m this case your money would go to enriching a community who had so much taken from them.

People pay for title 9 with their tax money.
I am not asking for direct payments to individuals.
ex-slave holding states will subsidize education for the poor in their state via a tax.
The US govt does the same for woman in College sports all over the country.

You want to go into 100 year period of ancient history, typical liberal thinking!
I wasn’t alive for most of that century for one thing and I grew up in a totally integrated society and within a 3 block radius of my home every Euro country was represented, along with Japanese and Chinese, Mexicans, African Americans so I only read about the horrors of Democrat KKK racism going on in the south in history class.
So there is no stigma of slavery anywhere in my DNA so I’’m not paying any reparations!
Ancient history? 1965 was 54 years ago.
Well if it ever comes… you won’t have a choice. But rest assured your contributions will be going to a great cause. Don’t you think?
I understand that. Black America was denied the ability to build the same sort of generational wealth that white america could build.
With that said, I think it will only cause more animosity on both sides. And ultimately being a child of both Americas that’s something I can’t bring myself to support.
That’s fair. My kids will be in the same boat as you are. However I am telling them to take reparations if it ever happens in their lifetime.
Slaveowners and their slaves had plenty of illegitimate mixed kids. Mostly from rape. My moms great great grandmother was one of them. To me, it doesn’t dilute my mother’s claim to reparations. It actually bolsters it.
There will be animosity. But when hasn’t there been animosity or down right violence when black people demand rights? That in itself isn’t a reason to not have reparations.
Oh so naive, it will NEVER HAPPEN.
Apparently, then, your outrage of reparations exceeds that of other perceived mis-spending by the government, as you would now actively try to deny financial support. It’s hard to interpret your (emphasis added) “I didn’t have anything to do with it, consequently, I am not paying” and “Do that and watch millions of white Americans refuse to pay their taxes.” in any other way than you would attempt (and most assuredly fail) to withhold tax payments if reparations were put in place.
Wear it like a badge of honor!
Woman will never vote either. Never is a long time.

The talking points up till now is the Civil War was all about slavery.
You can’t have it both ways.
As far as the reparations go is it will never happen. The dems bring it up every election cycle it seems like.
No intention to follow through.
Nope again. The south wanted to go to war over slavery. The north went to war to protect the union. Not to free slaves.

You can’t have it both ways. Good effort though.
